What causes fading?

The biggest contributor to fading is UV (ultra violet) light. Temperature, humidity and visible light also play a part in fading.

All fabrics, fibres and materials fade in different ways and at different rates. Some are effected greater by different factors. This means it is almost impossible to determine which is the most damaging aspect in any given situation.

The best solution is to apply a UV protection window film which combats many of the problem light waves, this will almost certainly reduce the fading to a level which is hardly noticeable, if at all.

Be wary of films which promise to eradicate fading. This is simple not true as it is not possible to control all aspects of fading with window film alone.

Window film is a fantastic solution to control fading but it will never eliminate it.
We find in almost all situations however that fading is slowed to such a rate that it is impossible to notice any real changes and the results are most satisfactory.

Museums and galleries trust the premium museum grade UV film we supply and install.

Protect artwork from fading

Give artwork and paintings the protection they deserve from the damaging effects of the sun. Artwork is often expensive, unique, sentimental or a combination of all of these things. Applying a fade control window film ensures your art lives on as it was meant to without being faded and damaged by the sun. Our fade control films filter 99% UV (ultra violet) light. If it's the ultimate protection you require then we offer a museum grade clear UV film which filters 99.5% of UV light.

Protect flooring from fading

Carpets and wood flooring are susceptible to fading. This can be especially bad when the sun hits part of the flooring and the fade becomes uneven. Carpets and rugs quickly start to look tired and the damaging effects of the sun cause fibres to become weak and brittle. Eventually your carpet will wear through completely and will need replacing. Wood floors are not exempt either, the wood fades and loses colour and will require re-sanding and treating.

Thankfully there is a solution, applying window film will greatly reduce the effects of fading.
